Most probably you want an option to hide iGetter taskbar icon and leave only tray icon on Windows 7/8. This is already in the iGetter Wish List and discussed several times here. Relation with minimize function is only the animation while iGetter window minimizes.

As of why iGetter icon is always on taskbar in Windows 7/8, answer is very simple this is a feature of Windows 7/8 (the same is true for Mac OS X Dock). We don't control how system taskbar behaves, but may try to hide the icon, even though user may want to pin it there and use Jump Lists commands.

If you want minimize the main window on close, you need to modify manually your iGetter prefs file, as explained here BTW, if you look for a keyboard shortcut, "Alt + Spacebar + N" will minimize your window, similar to "Alt + F4" for Close.

In v2.7.0 iGetter window minimizes only to Tray if Taskbar icon is unpinned on Windows 7 and 8.
